Seat height
The standard height is either 48, 50 or 52 cm (other heights available on request).
If necessary the seat frame height can be increased by 30, 40, 60 or 80 mm by simply adding on the appropriate extensions (see accessories).
Adjustment: fluid, synchronized tilt of seat and backrest by an angle of up to 13°, via knurled screw.
Seat shape: standard "F" = flat
Frame: high-gloss chrome-plated or black powder-coated
Stackability: up to 6 chairs, free standing
Chair frame
The chair frame is crafted from 2 mm thick steel tubing with a diameter of 20 mm in black powder-coated finish (other colours available on request). All chair frames are fitted with protective bars to enable secure stacking and floor-friendly black plastic feet.
Seat shape
1. Standard shape "F" with rounded front edge
The rounded front edge forestalls leg fatigue and circulatory problems. The back support forestalls damage caused by poor sitting positions.
Seating surface: width x depth = 44 x 42 cm.
Seat design
The seat, mounted on elastic rubber elements, is crafted from robust multi-ply beech wood and features ventilation perforation holes. The "F" (flat profile) and "S" (S-shaped profile) seats have a 4 cm thickness of high-quality breathable foam rubber cushioning, a foam rubber thickness of 2.5 cm being optionally available.
Backrest
The backrest pan is made from multi-ply beech wood and covered with a synthetic material covering. The backrest cushioning is a 3 cm thick layer of high-quality breathable furniture-grade foam rubber. Its moveable mounting on back upright allows it to adapt perfectly to the user's posture.
Fabric cover
In January 2014 we started to supply our chairs with a new and better fabric of flame-retardant Trevira® CS with abrasion resistance of 100,000 rubs (Martindale).
Standard colour: anthracite (flecked with grey, insensitive to dirt)
From a distance of 2 - 3 m on the difference between old and new fabric cannot be discerned any more.
Fabric colours
2 or 3 coloured melange: red, wine-red, green, blue, anthracite (standard)
solid coloured: black
Other colours and fabrics are available on request. We recommend fabrics that are 2 or 3 coloured, as they are insensitive to dirt.
Stackability
All Kolberg orchestra chairs can be stacked, free-standing. Sturdy plastic covers protect the chair frames. Stacking bars ensure balance and prevent contact between frame and upholstery.
